Proposal for Edits, an initiative by n8 (Museumnacht). Edits is a temporary exhibition at the central train station of Amsterdam. Designers and artists were asked to design a wall for the public space, inspired by one of the city’s museums. Arcam Amsterdam (centre for architecture) was my starting point. My design is a translation of the form and color grammar of the Dutch architect Gerrit Rietveld and De Stijl artist Piet Mondriaan. The image is a white field with horizontal and vertical black strokes. Thus white squares and rectangles appear. Metal railings are mounted in front of a few of these white shapes and function as dustbins. The public is invited to separate their waste on the basis of primary colors.
